Peace finally prevails in Maruti, strike called off

A TRUCE has been called between the Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and striking workers at the Manesar plant of the company. Gurgaon cops ask schools to get bus drivers trained

THE SCHOOLS have been asked by the authorities to get their act in order by October 31. Recently, the Gurgaon Traffic police had launched a Road Safety Knowledge Centre in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki to train the drivers. The Commissioner of Police SS Deswal at the launch of this centre had urged the school authorities to ensure that drivers are trained and also receive certification after undergoing training on the simulator. Gurgaon residents continue to suffer due to power cuts

ALTHOUGH THE government has promised that things would improve in the next couple of days, but sources reveal that situation is likely to remain the same for the next fortnight. At present, Gurgaon is getting 40 per cent less power, than the actual demand, and DHBVN officials have no clue as to when the power supply will be restored. An official revealed that a crisis like situation has developed because of lesser supply of electricity from the power plants.
