Commonwealth Games 2010: Major events on Day 2

INDIA STARTED Tuesday morning in the Commonwealth Games 2010 with a gold. In 10m Air Rifle Men's Pairs event, Indian pair Abhinav Bindra and Gagan Narang won first gold medal in the 19th Commonwealth Games. Abhinav Bindra and Gagan Narang also broke the record they had set in Melbourne in the previous Commonwealth Games.

On day 2 in the Commonwealth Games 2010 in the 50 m Rifle 3 Positions Pairs events in women's category, Indian pair Tejaswini Samant and Lajja Gauswami will shoot for the second gold medal for her country. Tejaswini Samant is defending air rifle champion and world gold medalist.

Indian Wrestlers Ravinder Singh and Anil Kumar will take part in the medal event of 60 kg and 96 kg Men's events at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex on Tuesday.
In the Weightlifting event at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex in the Men 62 kg category, Omkar Shekhar Otari and Rustam Sarang will try to clinch gold, whereas, in the Women 53 kg category, Swati Singh is the hope for Indians spectators.

In another important event on day 2 in the Commonwealth Games 2010, Indian hockey team will play against Malaysia at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium this evening.
In the tennis event, which will be played at R. K. Khanna Tennis Complex today, Indian top seeded player Somdev Devvarman will play against Devin Mullings of Bahamas in the first round of Men singles event, whereas, in the first round of Men double event, Indian greatest double pair Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi will play against Sri Lankan pair Amresh Jayawickreme Thangarajah and Dinesh Kanthan.

Today in the Commonwealth Games 2010, athletes will come to the podium for 18 gold medals in different categories. In swimming 5 golds, shooting 4 golds, cycling 3 golds, Wrestling 3 golds, Weightlifting 2 golds and in Gymnastics one gold medal will be decided today.
