Amazon offers Kindle 2 for $89

DURING THE biggest and hottest sale event of the year, Black Friday 2010, Amazon is selling the second-generation Kindle 2 for $89. The offer is one of Amazon’s “lightning deals,” which is in limited quantities. The Kindle 2 is a great e-reader with a 6″ E Ink display, 3G wireless and 2GB of memory.

Amazon announced on its Facebook page that Black Friday Deal: This Friday, 11/26, you can get our previous generation Kindle for $89! Our previous generation Kindle uses the old E Ink technology (the same E Ink as in the current Nook). Our all-new Kindle uses the latest generation E Ink (Pearl) for 50% percent better contrast, and is available at the everyday low price of ... $139.

The third-generation Kindle is 17% light in weight, 21% smaller in size and have higher storage capacity i.e it can store upto 3500 ebooks as compared with 1500 book capacity of the Kindle 2. Kindle 3 supports additional fonts and international Unicode characters. The Kindle 3 also has a better browser. Kindle Latest Generation memory is doubled to 4 GB.

The Kindle 2 was originally launched in February of 2009 and Kindle 3 dethroned this last August. The Kindle 3 offer a Wi-Fi-enabled model, as well as its battery will deliver up to a month of eBook reading. Kindle, holds a multitude of advantages compared to a regular paper book.
