TODAY IS Thanksgiving Day in the United States and it is an official holiday. On the occasion of Thanksgiving Day, the 84th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will kick off on Thursday, November 25 in New York from 9 am. ET.
During the country's favorite Thanksgiving parade 2010, more than 1,600 cheerleaders and dancers, 850 clowns, 15 giants character balloons, 43 novelty, ornament balloons, balloonheads and balloonicles, 12 marching bands, 27 floats, large performance groups and a host of celebrities will be seen taking part.
The Thanksgiving parade 2010 will start at 77th Street & Central Park West at 9am. The Parade will march south on Central Park West. At Columbus Circle, the Parade will then turn east towards Central Park South instead of heading down Broadway.
At the 7th Avenue, Macy's Thanksgiving parade 2010 will turn south at the corner of Central Park South and march to 42nd Street. The Parade will then travel east along 42nd Street from 7th to 6th Avenues. Parade to change direction south to 34th Street at 6th Avenue.
At 34th Street Thanksgiving parade 2010 heads west to Macy's Herald Square and ends at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue at around noon. During the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade 2010 the best public viewing along Central Park West is available on the west side of the street.
