Bryan Adams, Shankar Mahadevan to perform at Cricket World Cup Opening Ceremony

THE BIGGEST sporting extravaganza of the year, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will begin with inaugural match between two host nations, Bangladesh and India on February 19. However the grand opening of the tournament will take place on February 17 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh, two days prior to the first match.

Famous singer Bryan Adams would perform on the grand opening of the tournament. 'Summer of 69' singer Bryan Adams is likely to perform along with his band, D’Sa. The Canadian singer will likely to play three of his popular songs during the opening ceremony in Dhaka. Adams' home country Canada is one of the fourteen qualifying nations taking part in this mega event.

Indian music director and singer Shankar Mahadevan along with Divya Kumar, who have given their voice for the official song for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 "De Ghumaa Ke", will also perform during the opening ceremony on February 17. Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy composed the official song for the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

It is expected that a number of renowned faces from India as well as Bangladesh will perform during the opening ceremony at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh. However, there is no any official announcement has been made so far regarding this.
