Wankhede may lose IPL play-offs ‎over security issues

Mumbai Cricket Association may lose the two play-off matches of the IPL 4. These matches may be shifted to Bangalore.

BCCI working committee discussed how police behaviour and security arrangements were inconveniencing the franchises and officials during IPL 4, refering to N Srinivasan and Ratnakar Shetty being prevented from entering the office inside the stadium. Mumbai police refused to recognise the accreditation given by the IPL authorities and want officials to carry police accreditations with them.

Instead Mumbai police  replied, they cannot compromise security over ego issues. “Even the police commissioner is not allowed to enter without accreditation. Why are BCCI officials making an issue? Egos should be kept aside,” deputy police commissioner (Operations) Rajkumar Vhatkar said. “We are just saying that the authorities should also have police-provided cards. There is no issue between the police and BCCI.”
