IN THE 27th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 between West Indies and Ireland at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali, Irish captain William Porterfield won the toss and opted to field first to take advantage of the conditions in the early hours.
Before the match between West Indies and Ireland, the Caribbean team faced a big jolt. Their top player Chris Gayle had to miss the match as he is suffering from abdominal strain. West Indian captain Darren Sammy included Andre Russell in the playing XI in place of injured Chris Gayle.
The Irish captain William Porterfield has made one change in the playing XI against West Indies in this important match of group 'B' in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. He has picked all-rounder Andre Botha in place of Trent Johnston, who is suffering from knee injury.
This match is very important for both teams. If today Ireland manages to win against West Indies then their chance for quarterfinals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will be still alive. However, West Indies and Ireland have played three matches so far with each other and the record is in favour of Caribbeans by 2-0. During the 2007 World Cup, West Indies beat Ireland by eight wickets.
