Preview: Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

Tomorrow on March 10 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, co-host Sri Lanka will take on Zimbabwe in the 26th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Sri Lanka will be playing its fifth match and Zimbabwe will play their fourth match in the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2011.
Sri Lanka is on the third spot in group 'A' with two won, one lost and a match without result, whereas Zimbabwe has two points with a victory. It is very difficult for Zimbabwean to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Cricket World Cup 2011.
In the last match against Australia at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka scored 146 runs in 32.5 overs when the rain washed away the game. Captain Kumar Sangakkara scored an unbeaten 73 runs.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won their two matches against Canada and Kenya and lost against Pakistan by 11 runs.
Zimbabwe team started their ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 journey with a defeat against defending champion Australia. The Zimbabwean team lost that match by 91 runs. In the next match against Canada, Zimbabwe won by 175 runs, whereas against New Zealand they lost by 10 wickets. They were all out for 162 runs in 46.2 overs.
Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe have played 46 matches with each other, where the Lankans won 38 times and Zimbabwean won seven wickets. In the last encounter between these two countries in June 2010 at Harare, Sri Lanka won by 9 wickets.
